Yoni ~ meaning sacred place, vulva, vagina & womb.

Why should I steam my Yoni?
In addition to steam time being a meditative relaxation time used to decrease stress levels, the steam treatments also serve as a healing time for the mind, body and emotional well being.
What is a Yoni Steam?
The Yoni Steam also known as a vaginal or "v" steam is a natural and holistic approach to detoxing the uterus or womb. It is a form of hydrotherapy that uses herbal infusions as a warming steam bath which you sit over and allow the mist to cleanse your vagina, cervix and uterus via the steam vapors.
How does the Yoni Steam work?
The Yoni Steam works by applying a heat and moisture mix (aka steam) to the vulva (vagina). The steam carries increases circulation to the Yoni causing it to enlarge and expose the inner labial mucus membranes. These tissues are very porous and absorbent allowing the bloodstream to pick up the medicinal oils and carry them to the reproductive system, including the uterus. There, they work to help the uterus cleanse and release what is built up on its lining. (yogimami.com)
Who should NOT steam?
Women who are pregnant, or think there is any possibility that they might be, should NOT do any type of yoni steam. Doing so may endanger the pregnancy, as many of the herbs used can alter hormone levels and can cause contractions of the uterus. For the same reason, it is also NOT recommended for women who have an Intrauterine Device (IUD). Women who have any type of internal infection (cervical, uterine or ovarian inflammation), or a fever, are encouraged NOT to steam until the symptoms have passed. Women also should not steam while menstruating or when open sores or blisters are present.
